On November 10th, angels descended upon us, wearing more shimmer mist and hairspray than anything else! Thirty of the most beautiful women paraded down the gold glittery runway this past Wednesday in the 2010 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, which was held at the Lexington Armory in New York.

The show was full of skimpy, sexy, and over-the-top lingerie – not that we would expect anything less! The models do wear bras and panties that can be bought in the stores, but who notices all that underneath their wings and other outrageous props? The girls stomped down the runway in animal prints, rainbow patterns, lots and lots of glitter, and sporty-themed costumes. And of course, the aforementioned famous angel wings, which were bigger and better than ever. The designers over at Victoria’s Secret definitely have it going on when it comes to creating the ultimate balance between keeping it sexy, yet cute at the same time.
Behind the beautiful faces of the models comes makeup artist Tom Pechaux, who said that the look for the night was inspired by the California girl. This was translated as healthy, dewy, and glow-y looks.
With a California girl theme amidst the show, who better than Katy Perry to give a live performance? She opened the show with a medley of her hits, “Teenage Dream”, “Hot N Cold”, and “California Gurls”. Katy fit right in with the models, looking amazing with her killer curves in a low-cut purple bustier, and later looking sweet and sassy in a heart patterned PVC yellow dress with thigh-high lace up boots. Akon also performed on the runway, singing his new song “Angel” (how appropriate).
Yet still the biggest star of the night was worn by leading angel, Adriana Lima, the $2 million “Bombshell Fantasy Bra”. The bra is covered with 60 carats of diamonds and 82 carats of sapphire and topaz stones. I think they got the fantasy part right – who would buy that?!
The 2010 Victoria’s Secret show was heavenly as usual! Don’t forget to mark you calendars girls (and well, boys) – The televised version of the show airs on Tuesday, November 30th, on CBS.
