It’s been quite a dreadful year in Hollywood as we’ve been stripped of yet another talented individual. Dirty Dancing star, Patrick Swayze lost a prolonged battle with pancreatic cancer on September 14th.
Swayze was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer back in January 2008 but, decided to continue working on his TV series The Beast, later having to cancel shooting due to health issues.
“How do you nurture a positive attitude when all the statistics say you’re a dead man?” he said to Bill Carter of The New York Times last October. “You go to work.”
Patrick’s publicist, Annett Wolf, told The Associated Press in Los Angeles that he died with family at his side.
He will be forever missed and remembered for his roles in Dirty Dancing, Ghost, and of course, the Chippendales Dance-Offskit he did with Chris Farley on SNL.
