The producers of the Harry Potter were furious with actor Daniel Radcliffe over his commitment to appear in a Broadway show, which clashed with the premiere of the final part of the series. In what is said to be a battle between two production companies, Warner Bros. have the bought the Hirschfeld theatre for the nights he would have to miss.

Daniel Radcliffe had signed to act in the revival of ‘How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying’ at the Hirschfeld Theatre. The Broadway show started its previews on February 26 and would run till November 6. Meanwhile, Warner Bros. have planned a lavish premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 at London’s Trafalgar Square on July 7.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is last movie in the series of Harry Potter and Warner Bros. wanted to promote it well before they go for its release. But the studio bosses were upset, when they came to know that the Hollywood star will not be available for the promotion of the last franchisee. Finally, they had to buy the theatre after 'How To Succeed’ producers refused to release Radcliffe.

“This is the final film, so it’s a big deal. A grand world premiere is being planned as well as a US premiere and a press tour. They absolutely couldn’t do it without their big star. But the theatre producers dug their heels in and said they wouldn’t release Radcliffe unless Warner bought out the entire theatre for the nights they need him. Studio bosses are furious, but they have no choice but to pay up for five nights costing over 500,000 dollars,” the New York Post quoted a source as saying.

However, Daniel Radcliffe is now all set to join the Harry Potter team for publicity. Radcliffe’s rep said, “Everything is fine, Dan is promoting the film and is happy to do so. With all productions there are scheduling issues but everything has all been worked out.” The rep added, “Warner Bros. is very supportive of Dan, and there is no issue.”
